Fluid Series refers to a technique developed tocreate an undulating rim. It involves making a rough form, excising portions of clay from low in the wall, immediately re-joining and then re-throwing the form to the required thickness (thin-ness) and shape. The clay is soft, the speed of the wheel slow, the form uneven. It is a technique that has provoked much research and provided continuous intrigue from the unpredictable nature of the outcome. Shapes explored have been flat-based bowls with wide-angled walls, cups and tall containers. |
